One of Them

For C.L.

Well I've known her for a couple of weeks now
I think it's time to make it clear
All that I think and that I feel
And that by now she means to me
She means to me

Well I'm glad that you don't know her
I'm glad that you can't see my gem
Cause otherwise you would fall in love
Like I have fallen
She really isn't one of them
Don't catch me now, please leave me falling
She really isn't one of them

She treats me like she treats nobody
And every day she smiles to me
I'll take my time to realize
How deep this time it's come to me
It's come to me

And I'm glad that you don't know her
I'm glad that you can't see my gem
Cause otherwise you would fall in love
Like I have fallen
She really isn't one of them
Don't catch me now, please leave me falling
She really isn't one of them

Maybe you'd say she looks quite usual
Why don't you watch her with my eyes?
I guess she's fine, I hope she's mine
I'll wait for her to realize
I don't tell lies

And I'll let it all just happen
It never went the way I'd planned
Don't wonder if she would fall in love
Well I have fallen
She really isn't one of them
Don't catch me now, please leave me falling
She really isn't one of them

Another sin of a dim and distant past, that one. September 22, 1987, is what's written on the sheet. Out of the fifty sheets in the folder that share that year, maybe five or so seem worthy of being put up here. Bear with me please :-)
