Music by Sting, "Fragile"
For Natalie
The words were said
And hatred flew like mad
Now we retreat from fight
And treat our wounds
Tomorrow's tears
Will make these seem unreal
But I ain't quite so sure
That that will do
We've had so many fights
At times I could not see the light
At times I've been in fright
Of what will be
That our love was born beneath an angry star
That we forget how fragile we are
On and on our tears will flow
Like rain from our hearts
Like rain from our hearts
On and on our tears will show
How fragile we are
How fragile we are
Maybe come future we will learn
That love's no easy thing to earn
Maybe this hatred soon will fade
But maybe love will too
The trouble with our friendship is
That hell's so very close to bliss
But I can hope
And still love you
On and on our love will grow
Like grain in our hearts
Like grain in our hearts
On and on our love will know
How fragile we are
How fragile we are
How fragile we are
How fragile we are
1992. Yes, yes, you are right, it is terribly profane when compared to the original, I've robbed lots of lines from it anyway, and whatever I've added of my own is awfully inferior. All that, and whatever else you may have to say, is probably correct. I don't really know why I still like this one. But I do. Sorry :-)
